The annual meeting of young professionals of the Baltic countries “Baltic Meeting 2024” took place on May 16-17 in Kaunas, in the renovated Ąžuolynas library. This year’s main theme was Libraries Building Communities. During the meeting, the good experience of libraries, insights into emerging challenges and visions of the future of libraries were shared.
The gathered participants were welcomed by the chairperson of the Lithuanian Librarians’ Association and director of the Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library dr. Laura Juchnevič and Director of Ąžuolynas Library Edita Urbonavičienė.
PhotoKICK project coordinator Viktorija Žilinskaitė (Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library) presented the activities, results and outputs of the project. Library specialists discussed the “Guidelines for creating educational photography exhibitions” and “Educational photography exhibition program” and how these methodological tools are beneficial to culture and education specialists organizing non-formal educational programs for adult learners. In addition to this, participants were introduced to the process of implementing an international Erasmus+ project and the opportunities the program provides for improving the quality and accessibility to education.
