On February 1, 2023, an online project result workshop with project „PhotoKICK“ partners from Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Slovenia, and Spain was held by a coordinator of the project – Viktorija Žilinskaitė from Klaipėda County Ieva Simonaitytė Public Library.
During this meeting, all partners were working on developing the guidelines for creating educational photography exhibitions, which will include theoretical information about organizing and curating photography exhibitions, creating educational practices using the art or photography and practical examples of educational photography exhibitions from „PhotoKICK“ partners organizations. All materials will be available online for adult learning specialists, educators and andragogues to use.
The meeting began with a short icebreaker and introduction on the structure of the 1st project result – guidelines (methodology) for creating educational photography exhibitions.
After that, all participants of the project took part in a brainstorm on the Padlet platform and discussed what makes a photography exhibition educational. Another activity was a group discussion the project’s target audiences – andragogues and adult learners. The first group discussed what great characteristics a great andragogue or adult learning specialists must have when they are creating an educational photography exhibition and what challenges do they experience creating a non-formal education for adults. The second group shared their experience working with adults and presented their views on adult learners expectations, challenges and if non-formal adult education is different from other target groups.
The workshop provided beneficial insights and comments on the contents of the guidelines (methodology) for creating educational photography exhibitions. All partners shared similar experiences and challenges creating non-formal activities for adults and their local communities, and the same enthusiasm for encouraging creativity, fostering inclusion and motivate life-long learning practices. The results of this partner activity will be used to further develop the guidelines and prepare them for practical use in the field of andragogy and art and culture education.
